King Air 250 Cockpit Familiarization in Virtual Reality:
I modeled and textured every component of this cockpit, then created a virtual reality simulation using Unreal Engine 5. The logic took a lot of trial and error to put together. The user is able to select any cockpit control or system, select it using the virtual reality system controllers, which then spawns an information box that provides information about that selected system. This entire program was my sole creation, and showcases my multidisciplinary background.
PT60-A Engine:
An accurate 3D model of the PT60-A engine. Rotors and other components were animated to provide an accurate visual representation of the aircraft engine in operation, so pilots could gain a better understanding of it.
Japanese Tea Kettle:
Modeled using Maya and ZBrush. Two interchangable materials were created using Substance Painter. This is to demonstrate a brand new object, and one with accurate wear from being exposed to the elements for a long period of time.
"Cavalier" - 3D Character Model (textured, rigged, animated):
Modeled in Maya and ZBrush. Rigged in Maya. Materials created in Substance Painter. This is a game-ready character created for the "ArtWar 2" competition. This is a good demonstration of my ability to successfully accomplish every task along the video game asset development pipeline. The character is based on my own concept sketch, although the idea of a character having a wheel in place of two legs isn't new. (ie. Disney's Gizmoduck)
Marketing Posters - Disney Interactive:
I had to privilege of making dozens of these fun images, that were used in various publications, including Geme Informer magazine, the Disney website, and in various other promotional uses. The process involved creating a conceptual sketch, then posing the characters in the game engine, creating a screenshot, then doing postwork in Photoshop to clean up messy render glitches in order to create a "polished" image. Creating unique environments was my favorite challenge in the process. In some cases, I created and ultized custom 3D models to make up for game assets that hadn't been created yet. In addition to marketing materials, I did a little character and environmental 3D modeling, and created marketing videos as well, including some level design and video editing.
Mech (3D Model):
This is a mech that I concepted and modeled entirely in Maya and rendered in Keyshot. For some masochistic reason, I decided to model not only the external frame, but all of the internal components as well! I just love sci-fi and "tech", so I can't say it wasn't a lot of fun, but certainly a challenge, and quite time-consuming. The second image is a cross-section view of the cockpit.
Marketing Video for City Creek Construction:
This was the opening animation for a website that I created during my time with the great guys at City Creek Construction. If you're in Utah and need a GREAT commercial contructor, you really should check them out: citycreekconstruction.com.
I used the plans for one of their great-looking buildings, Bahr Dermatology, to 3D model and animate the "construction" of the building.
In addition to website design and a little animation, I also got to do some video editing, graphic design, and a LOT of proposal creation - design, layout, typography, graphic design, editing, and printing/distribution.
"Haunted House":
A fun little personal piece. My concept. 3D modeled in Maya and Zbrush. Textured in Substane Painter. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so no matter what date it is that you're visiting my site, I just want to say "Thank you!" and "Happy Halloween!".
Hartzell 4-Blade Self-Orienting Propellor:
This is a 1:1 animated 3D model that demonstrates the mechanism that changes the propellor blade's angle as it cuts through the air at different speeds and in various conditions.
Sci-Fi Helmet 3D Model:
A fun personal projects pushing ZBrush's hard surface modeling tools to accomplish some fun results. I actually 3D printed this one successfully.
Sci-Fi Helmet 3D Model:
More of the same. Another personal project in 3D. This render demonstrates that I can 3D model, and then do light post work in Photoshop in order to produce visually appealing results.
King Air Landing Gear:
Animated 3D models that demonstrate the composition and function of the landing gear used by this specific aircraft. Every bolt, housing, spring, frame piece and hose had to be 100% accurate and true to its real-world counterpart.
"Warmaster":
A 3D concept created solely in ZBrush to demonstrate conceptual work using only ZBrush's ZSpheres and hard-surface tools.
"Vamp":
More of the same. Concept piece using only ZBrush.
"Scatterflame" Weapon Concept:
I was playing Fallout 3 at the time, and wanted to try my hand at a weapon concept. I actually really enjoyed the shotgun shell...the cross-section was a lot of fun. There were some challenges for me, such as creating the old-school springy telephone cord-like wires and the rusty, worn areas.
